Okay, I'm back for a few more frugal tips:
4. Plant a garden; or at least plant some veggies/salad greens in pots. We are finally reaping the (yummy) benefits of our small garden (and my parents large garden--thanks!) and we love it!
5. Add 1/2 C borax, 1/2 C baking soda to 1 C of your dishwasher detergent. Doubles the life of your detergent, and borax/baking soda are CHEAP!
6. Make your own laundry detergent. I used this recipe; most I found around the web are about the same. I just starting using it this week, and it works great :)
Now it's your turn. I know you have a tip for me...

I am not a frugal person at all. I really don't have a talent in that. My poor husband. Anyway I think its great that you have a couple tips for these people that aren't frugal (ME)
ReplyDeleteHey Emilee! So fun to see recent pics of your family. I love your blog page and the great fall colors. Anyway, Dave's been great at couponing for the last few years, but I don't have the patience. What I have done is put MoneySavingMom.com in my Google Reader and check her blog updates regularly. She posts TONS (like, sometimes 20 a day) of deals going on at stores. Some use newspaper insert coupons, some printable coupons, some samples and deals to sign up for, etc. Lots of variety. We've gotten some great deals lately (29 cent diaper wipes! Can't beat it! Still going on at Walgreens, too :) ). So there's my tip for ya!

PS - If Rob is interested, he can use http://moneysavingmen.sytes.net/ -- my brother set this up as a joke so the guys didn't have to be afraid of visiting a site called money saving mom :)
