Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.

{more ranting} Blog Etiquette

Let me start out by saying I have never had anything offensive on my blog--probably because not many people read this blog--but I have seen comments on other blogs and just want to take this opportunity to rant about 'blog etiquette'. I am not expert on the subject, but I found some helpful info on the subject, especially at Cafe Mama and want to add my two-cents.

I think most people who have blogs centered around their family with the goal of keeping in touch with others enjoy comments posted on the blog.  Here are some general rules I believe are important when commenting:
#1 Keep your comments related to the posted subject matter
#2 Don't reveal information the blogger is attempting to keep private
#3 Feel free to link back to your blog (or any other site) IF it is relevant
#4 DO NOT use the comment section to promote your business endeavors unless the blogger has said specifically "I need info on ___"
Okay, I'm done ranting.  Thanks for reading and PLEASE leave me some comments on basic blogging etiquette according to YOU.

  1. I completely agree! My biggest pet peeve is solicitation comments! Blogs should be about connecting to friends and families through comments and not about advertising. I love it that there are women who have made a career out of blogging and make money doing it, but for the rest of us, comments should be personal and not business! Hopefully others will read and learn! Annie
