Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.

{more joy} Fries Come From Potatoes;
New Tricks

Friday night Buddy & I decided to make homemade fries. Apparently he doesn't like Lulu's favorite waffle fries from Costco. (Seriously, they are fries, what is NOT to like? Why can't my kids like the same thing? Buddy likes only chocolate pudding, Lulu only likes vanilla pudding; they each like different brands of string cheese; and now fries!) I told Buddy we needed to get some potatoes from the garage to make the fries, to which he responded, "Fries come from potatoes?!" I know I've mentioned this before, but it was a new revelation for this four year old.
Do you know what happened? You guessed it, everyone in the family (including Squiggle) loved the homemade fries, EXCEPT Lulu. One thing I've learned while being a mom is that you just can't win them all. Buddy had a great time making the fries; it was well worth the effort to see his adorable, smiling face. A memory I turned to when Lulu refused to eat the fries.
At the conclusion of this dinner, Dad started clapping and soon Lulu & Buddy were joining in on the fun. Just as they stopped clapping Squiggle started clapping! Now we have spent the weekend trying to get her to clap some more, it is adorable. Hopefully we can catch it on the camera so we can share.
Look for an update on the house Tuesday.
